* I am currently updating my blog with posts and newsletters from the past year. This is a newsletter from September 2024.
Hi wonderful crew,
I thought perhaps a simple email will do.
I hope you are all well and thriving?
For me another workshop has come and gone, and so do the seasons it seems!
“Hello feet - for people of all walks of life” was lots of fun with emphasis on the importance of toe strength for balance and fall prevention.
A big thank you to the lively bunch who affirmed the importance of these events and for making it so fulfilling.
The next workshop “Posture, out with the new and in with the old - an ancestral perspective" is scheduled for May 3rd 2025.
In the meantime, I am available for private appointments or come along to a group session Fridays at 7:30am or Saturdays at 9am.
Classes are only $25 and referrals are always welcome and much appreciated :-)
With regard to a springy spine, always start from the bottom up by rolling out your feet!
I have beautiful Rimu rollers for sale and according to Maori legend, Rimu helps ward off evil spirits especially during night time!
(I'm going to keep mine next to the bed from now on hahaha)
On that footnote, here is a special poem from the one and only Margaret Austin…
My feet need a treat
That's right up Femke's alley
The sole foot expert I know
To her advice I rally
She's full of footy facts
You'd better toe the line
Feet are not to be sniffed at
They're just short of divine!
We learn of muscles
Even joints
I'm all agog
To hear her points
To balance
We must triangulate
About that there is
No debate
Our heels deserve
Our rapt attention
I didn't think them
Worth a mention!
Now we can walk
Perhaps e'en march
On feet newborn
I'm not being arch
At lesson's end
We haven't failed it
Femke's all smiles
We nailed it!
Yours in Health & Movement,
Fem.
