* I am currently updating my blog with posts and newsletters from the past year. This is a newsletter from February 2025.
Hi lovely crew, how are you? Settling into the 2025 groove?
Brace yourself for here is my impromptu poem that is so ridiculous, it reflects my January in Wellington.
January in Wellington
It was a cold wet windy one!
Not much sun, and not as much fun
as previous summers spent
in a giant kitted out tent!
Gales we had yes indeed
I spent many-a-hours on the weed (that’s a joke a joke)
Finally, finally scored some epic waves
Titahi Bay you little beauty
That was one of my favs!
So that wraps up my January, but in all seriousness, there was plenty of fun in the mix and I hope you had a great time too?
The focus will be centred around “lengthening and strengthening”. This is especially important if you are 50+ years old, and it is especially important if you are female because menopause plus muscle weakness equals osteoporosis and other ghastly issues worth avoiding.
For men mobility is key, however, a well-rounded cohesive movement practise should incorporate flexibility, mobility, tuning, dexterity, stability, co-ordination, agility, functional strength, speed and power roughly in that order because as the old saying goes, “you can’t shoot a cannon from a canoe” nor can you “build a jet engine on a paper airplane.”
With that concept in mind, why not reset and come into alignment because there is always room for refinement.
I am available for programs, private appointments and classes. Classes will continue fortnightly Fridays 7:30am and Saturdays at 9am at Jhana Millers Gallery.
Mini workshops and presentations are also on the agenda for April, May and October!
Feel free to contact me directly (021 269 5741) and referrals are much appreciated. I’d love to hear from you.
Yours in Health & Movement,
Fem
